LAND OF DELIGHTS

The province of Novara is not only plains, it also includes a vast area of hills dedicated to the cultivation of vines. After appreciating the beauties of the landscape, it will be easy to enjoy a glass of wine or taste the local salamis and delicious cheeses. Novara is also a city of flavours: it will be impossible to refuse the delicious food and wine – Novara is the capital of gorgonzola. This cheese, mild or strong, is accompanied by a glass of DOCG or DOC vintage wine such as Ghemme, Boca, Fara or Sizzano.

And following the aperitif here are the traditional dishes for a genuine and nutritious meal: paniscia, rustida or cassola accompanied by rice-based dishes, or by the specialities dedicated to the frog.

In Novara the table has much to offer and to round off the meal there are the typical Biscottini di Novara, the Pane di San Gaudenzio, Dolce della Cattedrale or the more unusual Brutti ma Buoni from Borgomanero, or the Margheritine from Orta Sangiulio. All while tasting locally-produced acacia honey.

To enjoy the delights of the table it is sufficient to spend time discovering the many restaurants, agri-tourism farms, pastry shops and wine cellars in the area.
